When it helps
At the start of a project, a client may say they like a mood board and still be unsure what it means for their room. One or two quick renders built from the board and a rough plan show the direction in their own space. If the client reacts against it, you learn that early, before hours go into selections.
How it works
- You send the board, the room dimensions and a note on what must stay (a fireplace, a window wall, a piece the client owns).
- We build a simple version of the room and stand in pieces that match the board's feeling.
- You get one or two views, clearly marked as direction images.
What it is and isn't
A mood render shows a feeling: color, texture, light, the weight of the furniture. It is not a promise of specific products. We label these images as direction renders so a client doesn't mistake a stand-in sofa for the one being ordered.
After approval
Once the direction is set and selections are made, the same room becomes the base for full concept renders, which saves modeling time.
Questions
How rough can the plan be?
Room dimensions, door and window positions, and ceiling height are enough for a direction image.
Can we show two directions?
Yes. Two boards rendered in the same room side by side often make the choice easy for a client.
